Date: Sat May 5, 2001 2:52 am I have been on Paxil for about two years for depression. I have gained about 30 pounds and when I discussed this with my Dr. she told me to walk! Well I have been walking almost two miles a day and no weight loss whatsoever!!!!!!! I have never been overweight in my life and I am 54 years old!! I tried to get off the Paxil but the withdrawal symptoms made me want to die, literally. Brain zaps were horrible, flu like symptoms, vivid dreams, severe night sweats on and on with symptoms. I went back on the Paxil just to survive. She had me on 60 mgs at one time! I have cut myself down to 10mgs for about two weeks now. So far no withdrawals and I want to go off completely but I am scared. The weight gain has depressed me more than my original depression. I need help! The Paxil also gave me symptoms such as terrible clenching of my jaw. I find myself doing it all the time, it hurts! My eye twitches and I am so tired all the time and no energy whatsoever I just want to sleep and never wake up. I have to fight every morning to get out of bed and go to work. What is the answer? I HAVE TO GET OFF THIS DRUG! HELP. Lee Date: Sat May 5, 2001 5:57 am Response1: Get off very very slow, slower then any doctor will tell you, do you have Dr. Ann Tracy's book, if not, get it as well as her tape. It will also tell you how to get off the drugs. Welcome to the group, Cynthia Date: Sat May 5, 2001 2:55 pm Response2: Welcome to the club!!! Paxil is an insidious poison. It will rot your mind AND your body. Everything you described is exactly what everyone feels while trying to jettison this monkey. Read JB's Withdrawal Guide, which I'm sure Charly has posted on the main site. This will help you wean slowly off this garbage and reclaim your life. Trisha
